Rachel Ellen Designs is an independent greeting card, stationery and gift business based in a Victorian mill building in Nottingham, England. The company was founded in 1997 when Rachel retired from a career as a professional ballet dancer and started hand painting cards at the kitchen table in her London apartment.
Interest in Rachel’s unique products soon grew and she moved back to her home city of Nottingham where with help from her parents and husband Justin (who was also a professional ballet dancer she met while performing in Phantom of the Opera) – the company thrived and went from strength to strength.
21 years later the company now employs nearly 30 people and has won a host of awards. Rachel’s charming hand painted style is instantly recognisable and her drive to be creative along with her attention to detail and insistence on quality have been key factors in making the company what it is today – one of the leading publishers in the UK and market leaders in children’s cards and gifts.
Rachel Ellen Products are sold through a wide range of retailers in the UK as well as in more than 30 countries around the world.
All of our greeting cards are 100% British made, in fact after being designed in house they are all printed and flittered within a two and a half mile radius of our premises (so virtually not carbon footprint). They are then die-cut, hand finished, cello wrapped, checked, picked, packed and despatched by our very own skilled in house team.
